abstract

The overaching goal of this project is to further our understanding of cognitive aging through changes in strategic variations and their role in age-related differences in human cognition. To examine the role of cognitive variability in aging within domains of categorisation, (arithmetic) problem solving and implicit learning. To examine the correlations between cognitive variables, age-related cognitive decline and age-related changes in processing resources. To understand the role of cognitive variability in pathological aging (e.g., Alzheimer s disease) and relationships between neural degradation and cognitive variability To propose computational model of the role of cognitive variability during normal and pathological aging.
